ABOUT US

So Let's Go!

Everyone comes to Fit and Fun Playscapes with a story, a story about how they want to create experiences that improve the health and wellness of their community. Some of our customers come looking for playground stencils, others for sensory path stickers or recess games, and some to engage people to interact and provide joyful experiences. Despite their different needs, we’ve come to realize that all of our customers have something in common: a passion for movement, a vision for engaging graphics and the understanding that quality makes a huge difference.  At Fit and Fun Playscapes, we take pride in making each story into an epic creation. After years of getting to know our customers’ needs, investing in high quality materials, design and technology, and a lot of research and development, we’ve built an engaging community filled with amazing products, helpful tools and resources, and a passion for excellence to help people of all ages and abilities move, interact, play and lead healthier lifestyles. So let's do it.  Let's go!

Pamela G
Founder & CEO

Pam has lived and worked in NY State her entire life, including Long Island, Manhattan, and the Hudson Valley. She has been a licensed Architect since the 1990's where she specialized in building materials and worked as a planner. As a career-changer, she founded Fit and Fun Playscapes as a result of a volunteer experience that inspired her and the challenges her children had faced in school. She just felt like she could help kids, and has since grown her idea into a thriving business promoting the benefits of daily movement for all ages and abilities.

Pam holds a Bachelors of Architecture from New York Institute of Technology. She is a well-known and respected member of the local business community, and has received numerous awards for her work, entrepreneurship, and community partnerships. She is frequently invited to participate in podcasts and panel discussions, and travels throughout the country, giving presentations on the benefits of movement and inclusive activities. She has partnered with several organizations to help develop and test activities for individuals of all ability levels, and was recently named to the Board of Directors for Abilities First, a not-for-profit serving the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities..

Being a mom of three boys has always kept her active and Fit, but she also loves late night walks, hiking and skiing. For Fun — a good, funny movie on the couch and sailing on the Hudson with her husband.

Mitzy F

She keeps Fit by playing with her dog and going for walks on the rail trail. For Fun, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going for drives in her Jeep, exploring craft breweries and wineries with her husband, and playing drums in a Bagpipe Band.

Sandra E
Production Associate

Sandra worked in dental office management for 17 years, and after Covid hit she realized that she wanted a more physically active and creative job, so Fit and Fun was the perfect fit for her! She keeps busy learning the ins and outs of printing to ensure our orders are produced timely.

Originally from Brooklyn, Sandra moved to the Hudson Valley in the late 90's to be closer to family.

She keeps Fit working on backyard projects, especially woodworking and revamping old furniture. She stays Fun by keeping up with her teen, who keeps her in the loop and on her toes.

Maria B
Packaging Specialist

Maria has a background in sales in the clothing industry, as well as in eldercare and childcare. Maria makes sure all of our products are packaged up nicely, stocked on the shelves, and ready to ship quickly!

Originally from the island of Cebu in the Philippines, Maria recently became naturalized as a US citizen.

She is kept Fit and Fun by her adorable young son and very active dog.

Dr. Tim
Senior Educational Specialist

Tim started as an itinerant adapted physical education teacher working with children and families with disabilities, which has been his passion for over 35 years!

He brings that passion to working with current and future teachers too.  He has created a national platform of highly effective Certified Adapted Physical Educators, and has become a leader in the field. He opened the Sensory Integration Motor Sensory and Multi-Sensory Environment (SIMS/MSE) Lab at SUNY Cortland 12 years ago — the first of its kind — with the intent of creating a cross disciplinary training approach that provided students and teachers from all disciplines an opportunity to understand and engage sensory integration processing and the impact it has on learning.

Tim's  mantra of "helping children feel confident in their shoes wherever they may stand or play" has evolved through a creative team approach with the Fit and Fun team.

Playing with his young daughter — who is moving, jumping, and exploring — or getting out early on the water in his kayak is a great way to stay Fit and fishing anytime, anywhere is his Fun.

Matt S
Inclusive Movement Specialist

Throughout Matt's 30 year career, he's had the great fortune of having learned from a diverse group of individuals that serve as the foremost experts in the field of Inclusive Movement.

He has  founded and contributed to impactful companies and organizations that helped shape groundbreaking ways to expand the accessibility of play, sport, and physical activity for all people. His professional background includes a Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University, Masters of Kinesiology / Adapted Physical Education from The University of Virginia, as well as awards on the state, national, and international level for his work as a practitioner, consultant, and business owner.

As Inclusive Movement Specialist and Game Designer for Fit and Fun, Matt utilizes his professional skills to continue to help broaden and strengthen the vital need for movement experiences for all people.

His personal Fit and Fun moments come from playing alongside the students he teaches! No matter how old he gets, he feels young again with power of play!
